How do you enable innovation and intrapreneurship across a global organization? This is a question we often are asked at The League. We had the opportunity to work with the wonderful Sustainable Development team at SABMiller to help them do just this.
To support the company’s Prosper strategy, we developed and ran a global accelerator and peer learning program for intrapreneurs. The outcome of this three-month process was several systems innovation projects tackling issues from poverty, hunger and climate change all while delivering tangible business value to the company. We also established an internal community of practice, in which participants are continuing to develop their skills for innovation, collaboration and leadership.
This was much more than a project accelerator – we supported over 40 individuals to find purpose at work and to nurture their own personal resilience as well as their professional skills. This approach can now be replicated and scaled across the company.
