The League of Intrapreneurs hosted the first ever global awards for social intrapreneurship in 2013. In partnership with Ashoka, IFC, IDB, GSK, Standard Chartered and Accenture.
The League invited intrapreneurs to submit their project ideas and receive pro-bono consulting support to advance their work. We received over 200 entries from 52 countries and convened 15 finalists in London. The 5 finalists included a team from GSK working on low-cost paper-based diagnostics for maternal health; an intrapreneur using mobile technology to provide logistics to entrepreneurs living in urban slums; and an intrapreneur using meditation to foster creativity and innovation inside a global energy company.
Forbes, Fast Company and virgin.com covered these stories and we received a resounding endorsement from Richard Branson, himself: ‘Intrapreneurs are showing that business can be a force for good.’
